As a student in France, you have to fill the application online login the website : etudiant-etranger.ameli.fr.
In order to be covered in France and receive a french social security number, you have to provide:
- a copy of your student card or certificate of school,
- a copy of your passport or identity card,
- a copy of your student visa,
- a copy of your visa or resident permit,
- a copy of your birth certificate (the long version with your parents' names) and official translation,
- a RIB (relevé d'identité bancaire aka the bank details).
