How to order my carte Vitale?

You can also order the carte Vitale by returning the paper form you received. If you have completed the paper form, do not order the card online.

Before ordering the carte Vitale, make sure the address is correct (under the section “Mes informations”). If you need to update your postal address, it usually takes approximately 2 weeks for the change to be registered on your file.
You can then order your carte Vitale and it will take approximately 6 weeks to receive your carte Vitale by post.

You can follow the production of your carte Vitale from your ameli account until it is sent.

Please note that your carte Vitale will not be delivered if your name does not appear on your letterbox.

While you are waiting for your carte Vitale, download your "attestation de droits" (certificate of rights) from your ameli account with the additional information "CSS", "EXO TM" (if you have an ALD) and "ayants droit" (beneficiary) if necessary.

These services are free. Please be aware of phishing attempts that you may receive by e-mail or text message.

If you have not received your carte Vitale after 6 weeks and you cannot keep track of it any more, it is possible that your card has been lost. In this case, you can notify this on your ameli account and order a new one under the section "Mes démarches" > "Déclarer la perte ou le vol de ma carte Vitale".

The carte Vitale will then be cancelled and you will be able to order a new one. Please note that if you find back your carte Vitale after this declaration, the procedure is definitive, you will no longer be able to use it. You should return this carte Vitale by post to your CPAM.

A carte Vitale can be ordered for:

•    Children aged 12 and over, from the main parent's ameli account
•    Children aged 16 or over, using the form sent by post, or on the main parent's ameli account
•    Any adult with a definitive social security number whose rights are open (through the form or personal ameli account)
