Double NSS ? NSS provisoire + NSS on bulletin de paye

I am a EU citizen and i have been an intern in a french university since september 2019, when i also applied for french NSS, having a status of "contractuel etudiant". i was told to register at ameli etudiant etranger but i am still waiting for my final NSS (i got my NSS provisoire 8 months ago!). On my bulletin de paye i have another NSS which is totally different but i cannot use it to log in ameli for example because it includes a letter. So i guess this is not my final NSS neither. Now my internship is about to end and i got an amazing job where they ask me for my carte vitale, that i still dont have!!
so my questions are following: which of my NSS should i give them?
will those numbers somehow connect once i finally get my final NSS (i mean if ever i get it... i my docuents have been on "conforme" since ages)?
i was in need of a private insurance (mutuelle) and their system couldn't use my NSS provisoire but was okay with the NSS from my bulletin de paye - is this insurence connected to this NSS even valid?
I changed my adress and will change it again in 2 months, but since i applied in september for the NSS the adress in the documents that i submitted is not valid anymore and i can't change it on the ameli etudiant etranger page - what shell i do ?

Thank you for any answer. i am really desperate seeing how the system doesn't work and i hope not to lose my job opportunity because of it.

Bonjour jeremias,

A social security number contains only numbers, no letters. The one you can read on your payslip is a fictive number.

A Social security number is 13 digits + 2 digits key. When the social security number starts by 7 or 8, it means that it's a temporary one.

A temporary social security number (starting by 7 or 8) gives you the same rights that a permanent one. The only difference is that you can't order a Vitale card or open an ameli account for the moment.

The processing times to get a permanent number (starting by 1 or 2). can fluctuate between a caisse primaire d'assurance maladie (CPAM) to another one.

If you are salaried with a french work contract as an interne, you have to be affiliated to the main French health insurance system with CPAM not as a student.

Unfortunately, because of some safety and confidentiality issues, we can’t reach any of your information or file from this forum.

If you want to change your address and to track the status of your permanent number, the English speaking line is now available from 9am to 12am and from 2pm to 4.30pm but can be very busy. Dial 0 811 36 36 46.

Also, due to the current situation, if your situation is really urgent, I advise you to contact the French line with the help of a friend. The number is 36 46 or +33 811 70 36 46 (from abroad).

Have a nice day
