Regarding My Social Security Registration

Bonjour,

I am an international student and have recently returned to France to continue my studies at IMT Atlantique in Nantes.

During my previous stay in France, I applied for registration with Assurance Maladie and received a **temporary social security identification number** in Lyon. However, my application was later rejected because some information or documents needed to be corrected. I was unable to complete the correction at that time because I returned to Cambodia.

I am now back in France and would like to know what procedure I should follow to complete my registration.

Could you please confirm whether my **temporary social security identification number is still valid** and whether I can continue my previous application? Or do I need to submit a new application as an international student in Nantes?

Hello Danin,

If you had a temporary social security number before you left France, you will not be able to register online on the website for international students.

So, I advise you to mail your application to your local Assurance Maladie office (CPAM).

The required documents are the same as online, you will find the list on this topic : "How to be covered if I am an international student ?"

If you need more information about your new application, you can contact an English-speaking advisor at 09 74 75 36 46 (Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
