How to get a temporary social security number?

If you were entiltled for aide médicale de l'État (AME), the temporay social security number was mentioned on your AME card.

However if your AME rights are closed, this number is no longer valid.

If your resources do not allow you to benefit from AME and you require treatment that, if not provided, would be life-threatening, it may be covered as emergency treatment (soins urgents). In this situation, you do not need to pay anything up front or take any specific steps, the hospital will be reimbursed directly for the treatment by your caisse primaire d'assurance maladie (CPAM).
