J'ai fait le choix de "cultiver mon jardin", dommage que je n'ai pas la main verte.

Hello dnj,

The NHS can send this new S1 form to CPAM using the Electronic Exchange of Social Security information (EESSI) system.

Otherwise, il your wife already receive this S1 form by mail, she has to send it back to her local CPAM in France with a covering letter explaining her situation. Her file will be updated.

Some primary health insurance funds (CPAM) offer email addresses for sending certain supporting documents that you have to scanned.

To find out about the different e-mail addresses (or solutions) provided by your own CPAM, please go to ameli.fr (local page) > click on ameli.fr > enter your postcode and then choose your section. You can then check whether the sub-section "Près de chez vous" is available.

You can also :

  • send it to your local CPAM wich address is available on the ameli.fr website: "Adresses et contacts";
  • make an appointment at your local CPAM's office. To do so, I advise you to contact the CPAM’s English speaking line by dialing 09 74 75 36 46.

The processing times vary depending on the type of files and the number of files being processed by your caisse primaire d'assurance maladie (CPAM).

To contact your CPAM, click on the following link: How to call the French Health Insurance Advice Lines?

Thank you for your reponse, we have in fact now sent our new S1s with a covering letter to CPAM in Montpelier (we are in Herault).

But we tried calling into our local CPAM office in Béziers, appointment only, they told us to ring 3646 to make a RDV, we rang it, after getting through their Automated questions, we got a sorry this service is exceptionally unavailable.

The english speaking helpline also gave us this message.

We tried the message service in our ameli account, if the reason wasnt one of the listed options, you had to ring 3646.

Which is why we resorted to the postal option.

Sadly gone are the days when a representative from CPAM was available at a local mairie one morning a week, or even at the main office in Béziers

Even the ability to make a RDV when we called nto our local CPAM office would have been helpfull.

Anyway hopefully all should go ok via post.
