Question en attente de réponse

I cannot connect to the English speaking helpline, it does not work anymore and has not for the last month

Hi there

I have tried multiple times over the last month to get through to the english speaking helpline using my english mobile and a french landline but i either get cut off or get put through to the french line. I have multiple complex questions and my french is not good enough to ask these in french.
Is there an issue with the line? I am on the last stages of getting my Carte Vitale but do not have access to my online account and need the attestation and ability to claim back hospital costs.

Thank you for any help
Warm regards

Keeno

Hello Keeno,

The CPAM's English Advice Line can be reached.

Because of safety and confidentiality issues, we can’t reach any of your information or file from this forum.

I advise you to take a look at the information in the following topic: How to call the French Health Insurance Advice Lines?

Have a good day

I am in a similar situation and cannot get through to the English speaking line, I get an automated voice in French then cut off. I went to the CPAM in person and they told me the only way I can discuss my matter is by telephone.

I have read the below advice but to no avail...?

Hello Jen,

If you want to call the French Health Insurance advice line (french speaking line), dial 36 46 from France or +33 184 90 36 46 from abroad.

For your information : the international call prefix or dial out code shown as “+” has to be replaced by figures which are different from the country where you’re located.

If you need help regarding this request, you can contact the CPAM’s English speaking line. Call our French Health Insurance Advice Line :

09 74 75 36 46 (from France)

0033 974 75 36 46 (from other countries)

Have a nice day

I have the same problem...the english helpline only gives a french message and hangs up.
What is the status of the english helpline???? Brexit killed it? Not manned because of Covid?

I am having the same issue. Can you please respond? We are all dialing the correct number, otherwise it would not connect. It tells us we have reached the english translation line. But after a short message in french, the line goes dead.

I cannot specify clearer, we are dialing the correct number AND during the correct office hours stated.

Please give a clear answer and a route to get help.

I think that your English helpline number is out of order. Like other people I have tried ringing the number and I get through but after a recorded message in English and then a recorded message in French the line goes dead. It cuts off. It was working when we rang it in June but now it is definitely no longer working. Could you please check the line as I believe there is a fault on it. Thank you

Sophia Expert Ameli, The CPAM's English Advice Line CANNOT be reached. It's not a case of timing. You are so disconnected from reality. Look at the forums you are linking to. You cannot possibly believe this.

It truly is not working and by NOT escalating the issue you are committing and contributing to a great amount of pain for others.

Your morality is in question. Please help.

Hi everyone,
It looks like the issue is still actual, and, yeah, I found this thread today with the same issue. However, I guess, I found the solution. So, I called the number 09 74 75 36 46 from France, using my FRENCH phone number. And I've got the same thing - greetings in English, and after some voice in French which apparently says that the line temporarily unavailable or so, and after - cut off, so exactly as described here in the thread. I tried this couple of times - same thing.
But, next, I dialed the number from my UK NUMBER (I have two SIM cards in phone). So, you need to dial it as you call in roaming (+33 974 75 36 46), and voilà - you get connected, hear the same greetings in English, but different phrase in French - something about the call will be recorded, and you get in a waiting queue, and I got my call answered in several minutes by very friendly English speaking person, and my question was resolved in minutes.
So, the trick is - call from your foreign phone number while in France. I have no clue what the bug is, or why they designed it such way, but that's how it is.
Good luck, I hope this will help!

I have called the helpline and can confirm that it's working, called from a French number in France. You get the automated messages then a tune begins to play. I waited for maybe 20 mins but they picked up and helped as they always do. I hope everyone here can get connected because it's a huge help having an english speaking line.

Hello,

I'm facing the same issue. I called the english advice line (09 74 75 36 46) and couldn't get anything but the auto message of "welcome" then telling me "the service is temporarily closed" in French. I've called many times in different days with my French number in France, but none of them worked.

Please help and let me know how I can reach the help line. Thank you

Hello Yuyu,

The increasing number of calls can saturate the telephone line.

I advise you to repeat your call in low traffic hours, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Have a nice day.

Hi there,
I'm in the same situation. it's normal for CPAM. Doesn't care about anything.
Write to Aurélien Rousseau, Minister of Health and Prevention: https://sante.gouv.fr/ministere/article/ecrire-a-aurelien...
Maybe this could help.

Good luck.
