How to Claim for Consultations and Treatment using EHIC?

Whilst on holiday in France from UK, I needed to visit a doctor and was referred to a specialist who treated me and I had prescribed medicines. Obviously had to pay up front for all of these.

Can someone please clarify what amounts can I claim from CPAM and what paperwork is needed - and how long is it before repayment is made, presumably to my bank and not in cash? And is it possible to do this on-line, since, of course, I don't have a Carte Vitale? Thanks in advance for advice.

I have found the relevant information at
https://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?catId=1021&langI...
under the heading 'Reimbursements'

It says:
In France, submit your claims for reimbursement to the local CPAM office (Caisse Primaire d'Assurance Maladie).
You will need to provide
the treatment form ('feuille de soins')
copies of receipts & prescriptions
a copy of your European Health Insurance Card
your home address
your bank details, including the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) & Bank Identifier Code (BIC).
Confirmation of your refund will be sent to your home address.

You can claim about 70% of the standard treatment cost (80% of hospital treatment).
If you cannot submit a claim during your stay in France, contact your national health insurance provider when you get home.

J'ai fait le choix de "cultiver mon jardin", dommage que je n'ai pas la main verte.

Good morning Balcon,

That's right, in order to get the refund from France for medical fees, you have to send your documents to a CPAM (caisse primaire d'assurance maladie) office.

You will have further informations on this page of the ameli website : "English pages".

Have a nice day
