Question About My Temporary Social Security Identification Number

Bonjour,

I am an international student and I have recently returned to France to continue my studies at IMT Atlantique in Nantes.

During my previous stay in France, I applied for registration with Assurance Maladie and received a **temporary social security identification number** in Lyon. However, my application was later rejected because some information or documents needed to be corrected. I did not complete the correction at that time because I returned to Cambodia.

I am now back in France and would like to know what procedure I should follow.

Could you please confirm whether my **temporary social security identification number is still valid** and whether I can continue my previous application? Or do I need to submit a new application as an international student in Nantes?

I would also appreciate it if you could let me know which documents I need to provide to complete my registration.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Kind regards,
Danin

Hello Danin,

Your temporary social security number was deactivated when you left France. So, you must re open your rights providing the documents listed on this topic titled "How to be covered if I am an international student ?"

As you already have your number, please note that you cannot do the process online, you must send the requested documents to your local caisse primaire d'assurance maladie (CPAM) and attach the S1106 form « Application for membership in the French health care system » available on ameli.fr .

You will find your local CPAM adress checking the section "Adresses et contacts" on ameli.fr website.

Have a nice day.
