Social Security Number Application for My Husband

I currently reside in France with a Talent Passport visa, and my husband recently joined me on a Talent Passport Family visa. He is not working at the moment.

I have already obtained my own Social Security Number (SSN) and have applied for my husband's SSN. I submitted the following documents to CPAM Paris (Paris Health Insurance, 75948 PARIS CEDEX 19):

Birth Certificate
Nominative bank account statement (RIB)
Proof of address
Proof of identity and residence stability
VLS with the mention "passport talent - family"
Passport pages containing identity information
Dated and signed form S1106 (Cerfa N° 15993*01)

I have a couple of questions:

1. Could you please confirm if these are all the necessary documents for his SSN application?
2. Once his SSN is assigned, will he be notified by email? I ask because our mailbox only displays my name, and sometimes my husband’s mail gets missed.

Bonjour KohliM,

Firstly, as your husband holds a "passeport talent famille" you can read this topic entitled : "How to be covered if I am a « Passeport talent » or a « Passeport talent famille » holder ?".

Then, you can compare and add documents if some of them are missing.

Finally, you do not receive an email telling the social security number is ready but you receive the "attestation de droits" by mail.

The processing times vary depending on the type of files and the number of files being processed by your caisse primaire d'assurance maladie (CPAM).
