How to be covered if I am an « Assistant de langue » ?

In order to be covered by the French healthcare system, you need to provide some documents to your caisse primaire d’assurance maladie (CPAM).

If your main residence is in France and you work as an « assistant de langue », you need to submit the following documents to the CPAM of Paris, regardless of where you live in France:

- A copy of the passport or identity card;
- A copy of your work contract;
- The S1106 form « Application for membership in the French healthcare system » available on ameli.fr;
- The certified and complete copy of your birth certificate, with the mention of your parents’ names;
- A copy of your marriage certificate, if applicable;
- For non-European citizens, the official translation of your birth and marriage certificates into French, made by an official translator registered with a French court of justice, or by your consulate or embassy;
- A proof of residency (utility bills, rental contract, etc.);
- Your French bank account details (copy of your official RIB - relevé d'identité bancaire/IBAN);
- Your « arrêté de nomination» issued by the "rectorat" and with the signature and stamp of the director of the school;
- If you have children, a copy of their birth certificate and passport or ID with the form S3705 « Application to add minor children to one or both parents insurance accounts », available on ameli.fr;
- For non-European citizens, a copy of your visa or resident’s permit.

Please find below the address of the CPAM for « Assistants de langue »:

Assurance Maladie de Paris
SRI / Assistants de langue
75948 Paris Cedex 19

However, if you are an « assistant de langue » without the « arrêté de nomination », you need to submit your application to your local CPAM. You can find your CPAM's address on our website ameli.fr, section « Adresses et contacts ».

Have a nice day.
