Did not recieve my permanent social security number

Hello, I have got the temporary insurance for more than 1 year and the few documents are still under process. Then I recived this mail from ameli saying- "You are now insured by the health insurance fund [Caisse Primaire d'Assurance Maladie - CPAM] for your place of residence (determined according to your address).

All formalities must be addressed to this office (enquiries, healthcare reimbursements, etc.). From this date onwards, you should no longer send letters to the Poitiers office if your département of residence is not Vienne (86)."
What does this mean?

Hello Dodo,

It means that you are now registered with the CPAM of your place of residence.

A temporary social security number gives you the same rights that a permanent one. The only difference is that you can't order a Vitale card or open an ameli account for the moment.

The processing times to get a permanent number (starting by 1 or 2). can fluctuate between a caisse primaire d'assurance maladie (CPAM) to another one.

Unfortunately, because of some safety and confidentiality issues, we can’t reach any of your information or file from this forum.

Anyway, if you need some help regarding this request, you can contact the CPAM’s English speaking line.

The number changed. More information in the following topic: How to call the French Health Insurance Advice Lines?

Have a nice day.
