Social security number / Vitale card

Hello, I am a student in France and I have been trying to get my Vitale card for past 1 year. I have my temporary social security number but I still have not received by permanent number though I have submitted all the documents long back almost more than 7 months ago. When I tried to check the status of my documents I see currently being processed for more than 6 months. When contacted CPAM they informed me that my social security number is being processed by CAF. But when I contacted CAF they said it is under CPAM and this conversation have been going on for past one month but I dont know the status of my number.
In this regard, I kindly request you to let me know the status and when I will receive my permanent number. I would also like to inform you that my address is changed now and I no longer reside in the address submitted in the documents. But I am not able to update the following information in this page https://etudiant-etranger.ameli.fr/espace/#/student-area.

I request you to kindly speed and the process and also would like to speak to anyone of you regarding this.

Hello Sangeetha,

Your permanent social security number must be delivered by the organisation you registered first with.

It means that only the caisse d'allocations familiales (Caf) can provide it to you if you registered with the Caf before applying with the caisse primaire d'assurance maladie (CPAM).

Unfortunately, because of some safety and confidentiality issues, we can’t reach any of your information or file from this forum.

Anyway, if you need help regarding this request and update your address, you can contact the CPAM’s English speaking line.

For your information : the international call prefix or dial out code shown as “+” has to be replaced by figures which are different from the country where you’re located.

Hello Roxane, Thank you for the response. I indeed contacted the CAF but they said it is CPAM that is responsible for this.

Can I please know if it is possible to create a new request for social security with CPAM ?

No, it's not possible to create a new request with the CPAM if one was started by CAF.

I invit you to contact the CAF's mediator if the CAF is not able to provide you your permanent number.
