Why didn't I receive any feedback from my application for Card Vitale?

Hi, I moved to France in January 2020 for a full-time job. After a month or so, my HR manager told me I needed to go to CPAM to apply for Card Vitale. I did this at the beginning of March 2020. Now, even after 3 months, I still didn't receive anything to my home address, not even a temporary social security number. Therefore, I don't even know if I have my health insurance active if anything happens to me. What should I say in a hospital? Is there anyone I can contact to check the status of my application without having this temporary number?

Additional problem is that before the Covid-19 lockdown started, I travelled to my home EU country and stayed there since March. In case anything happens to me here and I incur medical expenses, can I claim to reimburse them in France once I (hopefully) eventually get my Card Vitale? Obviously I haven't been able to order the EU medical insurance card yet.

Finally, from what I see you can only send an email through your Ameli account, however I cannot set up one without my social security number. What is the solution here?

Unfortunately, because of some safety and confidentiality issues, we can’t reach any of your information or file from this forum.

The processing times vary depending on the type of files and the number of files being processed by your caisse primaire d'assurance maladie (CPAM). It can be longer than usual due to the situation. It's not possible to track the process online.

Anyway your cover will start from the first day you started to work. If you have some healthcare abroad you will be able to claim back the money by sending your bills with the form S3125 "Soins reçus à l'étranger" when you will have received your social security number.

Due to the current situation, the English speaking line is not available. If your situation is really urgent, I advise you to contact the French line with the help of a friend.

3 months and you ask!? I did it one year ago and i still dont have anything! I visited the "securite sociale" 3 times and i have the same answer..c est en cours..
