Transportation to home city hospital

I delivered my baby in a different city than my home city in France and the baby was hospitalised for 1 month in birth city hospital. Now the baby needs to be transferred to home city hospital. Is this transportation and medical service cost covered by insurance? Who do i need to contact and what’s the procedure. Thanks

Hello Sambhav,

Transportation to your home address will be covered after hospitalisation of your baby.

You will need a prescription established prior to the transport. If it is long distance (more than 150 km), your practitioner will need to make a demand to your caisse primaire d'assurance maladie (CPAM) called "demande d'entente préalable".
