Child birth in Other country

Hello, Me and my wife arrived in france last year with talent passport, we have our social security card and resident card now.
we are pregnant and going to declare with the france ameli. We prefer to have the child birth in India our home country and come back to france.
Could anyone let us know what are the steps we should take for administrative processes?

Bonjour Vino,

You will be able to register your child to the French Health system once your child will be back to France sending form S3705 "Demande de rattachement des enfants à l'un ou aux deux parents assurés" to your caisse primaire d'assurance maladie office (CPAM) with a copy of his or her birth certificate..

All costs linked to delivery and pregnancy will be at your own charge.

Nothing in the Franco-Indian social security agreement or in French legislation allows the coverage of costs linked to the birth of an insured person under the French regime who leaves for India with the aim of giving birth there or during maternity leave.

If you are in this case, the costs will be entirely your responsibility. Daily allowances will not be paid to you for the duration of your stay in India.

When you will be back, you will have to register your kid using S3705 form and giving a certified and translated birth certificate (to be done with the embassy)
