Sushmita,

I cannot confirm that your document will be accepted so I advise you to upload both documents (your original birth certificate and the document issued by the Indian consulate) on your student space on etudiant-etranger.ameli.fr and wait for your CPAM to check it. They will be the only one who can tell you if it is the compliant document.

I wish you a good day.

I am an Indian student but I was born in the UAE and hence, my birth certificate is from there. They won't attest / apostille the birth certificate in India. How can I go forward with my situation? I have also heard that UAE is a non-Hague country.

Along with the birth certificate (issued by the Minister of health in UAE), I had also received a CERTIFICATE OF ENTRY OF BIRTH OF AN INDIAN CITIZEN WITHIN THE CONSULAR DISTRICT OF CONSULATE GENERAL OF INDIA, DUBAI (issued by the Indian Consulate General). Is it enough if I get that apostilled?

Hello Sushmita,

To apply for your social security number, you must provide identity proof and civil status proof issued by the same country.

So, in your situation, you have to ask the Indian authorities for a transcription of your Emirati birth certificate into their registers.

More information for your application are available following this link : "How to be covered if I am an international student ?"

Have a nice day.
