Hello MS,

If you do not already have a social security number, you can send us copies of your original documents. As they are in English, we do not need their translations and apostilles.

In function of your personal situation, I advise you to look at these topics named : "How to be covered if I am not working and I am a non-European citizen ?"
or "How to be covered if I am a retired European or British citizen ?".

You can send your documents by mail. You can find the contact information for your local CPAM office on ameli.fr, under the section "Adresses et contacts".

If you already have a social security number, these two documents are not required to apply for the "carte Vitale". You can order this card online through your ameli account.

Please look at this topic entitled : "How to create my online account "compte ameli"?".

If you need further assistance, please call our English speaking line at 09 74 75 36 46.

Have a nice day.

Hi MS. There may different requirements from the CPAM (that is in charge of the right to health insurance) and the SANDIA (that is/will be in charge of delivering your final social security number. In the "formulaire" that you use to apply for assurance maladie, it is indicated that the Caisse Maladie will let you know if the document requires a translation, so you may submit without one and provide a translation later if required.
