Philip,

So, you simply need to request the S1 form by telephone or from "Espace d'échanges" on your ameli account, specifying that you wish to keep your rights open in France.

Have a nice day.

 <fb20:question-body>

I work in France and have received my Carte Vitale. I am living in the Netherlands still, and need to be registered there for health insurance. I was told by the Dutch health insurance agency that I need an S1 form to be registered in the Netherlands for my Dutch health care needs. I just called to get the S1 form, but was told that this would deregister me from the French health insurance. But this is not what I want, I want to have in the Netherlands the Dutch health insurance, but be covered in France and other places using my Carte Vitale.

The Dutch organization told me that with an S1 form I should not be deregistered from France. Have I misunderstood the French operator, and is this indeed the case?

Thank you. I am registered with CPAM and got my carte vitale. On the phone I was told that I cannot be affiliated to CPAM and also to the Dutch organization but maybe I misunderstood because I want exactly what you're describing here and be affiliated to both.

Hello Philip,

If you work in France, you are entitled to health cover.

If you live in a country of the European Union, these rights can be transferred using form S1. You can then be affiliated to the CPAM in France and also to the Dutch organisation.

The first step is to register with the CPAM. Once your rights have been opened, you will need to request an S1 form and send it to the Dutch organization.

To find out what steps to take to register to CPAM, I suggest you to read this topic : How to be covered if I am working with a French contract ?

Have a nice day.
