If you can't connect online on the ameli account despite of the solutions given through this topic : "How to create my online account "compte ameli" ?"

You really should call again the english hotline. An advisor will check your file and give you a temporary code in order to login into your account.

The waiting time on the hotline may be long but please call them back.

Hello, I moved to France over 3 months ago. I am an Auto Entrepreneur. I have a permanent social security number.
I am trying to create and Ameli account, and I keep receiving the error message: Une ou plusieurs erreurs sont présentes dans le formulaire.
Merci de rectifier votre saisie en vous aidant des aides disponibles.
I have tried my maiden name and married name, different browsers and followed all the instructions on this thread.
I have tried telephoning the English helpline but it just rings endlessly.
I am going around in circles and getting very frustrated.

The processing times vary depending on the type of files and the number of files being processed by your caisse primaire d'assurance maladie (CPAM).

As I do not have access to your file, I am unable to provide you with any information regarding the status of your definitive number. However, it should not take this long.

I therefore recommend that you contact your local CPAM office to check on the status of your file.

Hello!

I am a refugee and I only have a temporary social security number. I received it in April 2025, so it has already been 5 months. I still haven’t received my permanent social security number.

Could you please tell me how long it usually takes to get it? Without the permanent number I cannot order Carte Vitale, which also takes several months to arrive. In the meantime, I have to pay for medical services myself and wait for reimbursement. For example, I have already been waiting for 2 months for a refund, but nothing has been returned yet.

This situation is very difficult for me financially, because I don’t have spare money to cover medical costs while waiting for reimbursement. As a result, I cannot properly take care of my health. The permanent number is also necessary for other important administrative procedures, so it is very urgent for me.

You must verify if your rights to health insurance are opened with this social security number and if it has been certified to let you access ameli account and create carte Vitale.

I invite you to contact your caisse primaire d'assurance maladie (CPAM) to reach a counselor as we do not have access to your file on this forum fulfill with securtity policy of your personal information.

Hi,

I moved to France 3 months ago. I work fultime and received my social security number via my employer. However I have not received a carte vitale yet. When I try to create my account on Maladie it gives me an error saying "Your current situation does not allow you to immediately create your ameli account.Please:Contact your health insurance fund".

what can I do? My employer do not what to do either..

Before you start, make sure you use the French version of the website (not the translated page).

Please note that it is not possible to create an ameli account within 7 to 10 days of receiving your definitive social security number.

Besides, if you have a temporary social security number, starting by 7 or 8, you cannot open an ameli account.

In order to create your account by yourself, you need:

- Your name;

- Your certified social security number (13 first digits);

- Your date of birth;

- Your post code;

- The last 7 digits of your IBAN number (french bank account only);

- The last 11 digits of your carte Vitale’s serial number (on the right handside of the picture);

- Your email address (your ameli account is personal and individual. Please do not use an e-mail address already linked to another ameli account. Note for students: it is possible to choose a different email address for the ameli account than the one you gave when you registered on the Etudiant étranger website).
