Bonjour Soumitra H,

In order your wife to be covered by health insurance, she must be living in France for at least 3 months if she's not working.

Then, she has to provide the following documents to her local CPAM (caisse primaire d'assurance maladie) office:

- her birth certificate (the long version one) with your parents name on it and translation ;

- copy of her passport ;

- copy of her resident permit/visa ;

- copy of a proof of residency (electricity bill, phone bill, rental contract, ...) for the last 3 months ;

- copy of her marriage certificate (if necessary) ;

- her particular of French bank account (RIB);

- her work contract and payslips if she's working ;

Anyway, if she needs some help regarding this request, she can contact the CPAM’s English speaking line.

She can also contact the French speaking line, dial 36 46.
