If you don't have the CPAM letter confirming your AME immatriculation, then I advise you to send back your AME card and a covering letter to your CPAM which address can be found on the ameli.fr website, section "Adresses et contacts".

Hello Anne 27,

If you benefit from the AME (Aide Médicale de l'Etat) but now you have the conditions for legal residence during the period of entitlement to the AME, you must inform your CPAM (caisse primaire d'assurance maladie) and send a copy of your residence permit.

As soon as the residence permit is received, the CPAM interrupts the current entitlement and reattaches the insured person on the basis of residence or professional activity if you have a job. There is therefore no interruption of entitlement.

Once the entitlements are up to date, you must return your AME admission certificate.

You will then have a definitive social security number and will be able to obtain a carte Vitale.
