Merci beaucoup Audrey, mais j’ai déjà suivi toutes vos suggestions et à maint reprises….. j’ai besoin de parler avec quelqu’un qui pourrait me dire où je suis au niveau de la progression de mon dossier… au bout de 18 mois.

Wishing you luck as I am hanging on the phone yet again in the nearly 18 month saga of trying to obtain health care cover. I got through after 20 m , then after the person took my details and asked me to hold on , the line cut off after another 15 m…Like others on the forum I have supplied the same documents several times, am in possession of 8 letters from CPAM to no avail. Surely after all this time I deserve a concrete response of either yes or no???
I am classed as a ‘ jeune retraitée’ , résident since 2018 with the means to pay my cotisations.
A helpline for foreigners - demands de la prise en charge- would be a good start as the initial message when calling 3646 states that priority is being given to ‘ les arrêts de travail’.
Impossible to open an account if you don’t have a social security number… hence trying this forum since no reply all the while I am trying this.
Grateful for any advice!

So the S1 isn't valid until after we see the prefecture in 7 months? We have confirmed residents visas. These were submitted at the time. Obviously the British government is lying when they say the S1 counts. We are very upset about this.

Yes we have done this 2 months after we arrived. We have a confirmation of this. We also showed this to CPAM. Not sure why the S1 was rejected in this instant. We are residents on a confirmed residents visa, not visitors.

Hello Swetta,

British citizens must now attach a residence permit to their application for membership or at least a "récépissé" (proof) of the request.
