Hello I am still waiting to get my permanent social security number. This is very strange as all of colleague received their permanent number (some of them even arrived after me). This clearly hints that there is some 'specific' process of processing these applications based on some specific parameters.

Hello Researcher,

The permanent national insurance number is issued by SANDIA (Service Administratif National d'Identification des Assurés), which is managed as such by delegation from INSEE (Institut national de la statistique et des études économiques). For this to happen, the civil status documents must be certified and the time taken may vary depending on the situation (translations, difficulties in obtaining information, etc.).

It is impossible to give a fixed and guaranteed deadline. However, the minimum period is 6 months.

The provisional national insurance number gives you the same rights as a permanent number (although the ameli account is not accessible and no carte Vitale can be created).

The processing times vary depending on the type of files and the number of files being processed by your caisse primaire d'assurance maladie (CPAM).
