12 months ....!!!! Ok they told me it would take two months for security number ... this is unbelievable. Thanks for your reply.

Hello, thank you for your reply! I already got my Ameli account and my security number starts with number 2...it is a proper number. But when I go into my account on Ameli and try to order the card then the system says that it doesn't work and I should try it later. I am trying it every day for the last 2 weeks. Thank you!

I just saw your post ad was wondering i sent all the documents needed to to obtain my carte vitale and my social security . so far nothing i called and they called me back saying i'm missing a document ... of course bureaucraty ... they told me once it's done i wil get my security number first and then later my card ... don't really understand but how long did it take to get your sec number ? like 2 months ?

Hello Sofie,

If your social security number starts by 7 or 8, it means that it's a temporary social security number, you can not create an ameli account or order a Vitale card.

You can open an ameli account and obtain your Vitale card only with a permanent social security number (starting by 1 or 2).

To log in to your ameli account, you need to enter your permanent social security number without the 2 last Numbers (13 digits) and your temprary password (4 digits code), given by your CPAM's office.

If you need some help to create your account, please contact the CPAM’s English or French Advice Lines.

An advisor will create directly the account for you and give you the password to log on the account.

Do not hesitate to have a look at the tutorial to know all the possibilities you have thanks to your ameli account.
