We declared the birth at the Etat Civil in the hospital and have several copies of the birth certificates.</p><p>Do we need to take a further step to register the child for Ameli/CPAM or is it automated. My French is not great and I think the lady in the office told me we needed to do something, but out GP told my wife it would be automatic. But if you have an <a href="https://assure.ameli.fr/PortailAS/appmanager/PortailAS/assure?_nfpb=true&amp;_pageLabel=as_login_page&amp;connexioncompte_2actionEvt=afficher">ameli account</a>, you can declare the birth online, in "Mes démarches" (only for one insurer's file).</p><p>If you want to declare the birth on both parent's files, you have to fill the form <a href="https://www.ameli.fr/sites/default/files/formulaires/175/s3705_puma_version_ameli_remp.pdf">S3705a "Demande de rattachement des enfants mineurs à l'un ou aux deux parents assurés"</a> and send it to your local office.</p><p>Anyway, if you need some help regarding this request, you can contact the CPAM’s English speaking line.
