Application rejected 'abandoned' because my school is not eligible - What should I do?

Hello,

I am an international student in France with a student visa (D) to pursue a program with an internship. Since holders of a long-stay visa must be affiliated with the social security system in France, I submitted my application through the platform for foreigners (etudiant-etranger.ameli.fr).

However, my application was rejected/abandoned with the motive that my school is not eligible (I am enrolled in a private higher education institution). Several of my classmates are facing the same issue, even though we have all submitted the required documents (enrollment certificate, copy of the visa, birth certificate, etc.).

What procedure should we follow to submit our request? And most importantly, why is my school not eligible?
