Still no social security number ?

My partner and I applied for our Carte Vitale last year. We attended an appointment in Poitiers in January and were told all our paperwork was in place and we would received a temporary social security number within 10 days, our card a month or so later. To date, we have not received anything. I have tried to chase but sadly (despite lessons) my french is still not quite up to speed resulting in (understandably) a frustrated person on the end of the phone. My cardiologist wants to put me on an ALD and asked I sort my social security number asap. Advice very much welcomed.
